English Shepherd puppies – our new family members

We made a crazy decision and now have two 10 week old English Shepherd puppies. Sarah and Abigail are beautiful little girls. Our challenge is we don’t have a backyard to put them in and let them run around because we live in our motorhome. They are very busy girls and we are so in love with them. They are smart and catch on to training really quick. We drove 550 miles each way to pick them up. It was worth the trip. Of course having the girls will change our lifestyle a little bit.

Sarah is my party girl, wants to play and have a good time. Abigail is my quiet girl who will probably be the watch dog…..they love to play together and sleep together. They move so fast it is hard to get good photos of them. Here are few photos I was able to get…

Of course, the party dog’s name is Sarah. Can you nickname them Sadie and Abbie? …another Sarah (in Montana today)

Your pups are so sweet! I came across your blog researching ES & on the verge of taking the plunge but very much a nervous Nelly because they might have a hard time adjusting to where I live & lack of land. Was very curious what your experience has been. Not the easiest breed but one of the smartest! i used to have a mini ES miix but purebred ES another experience altogether! I used to do a lot of moto riding too but now it’s insane where I live- everyone is in a big rush. SO soon to retire & in process of planning van-mobile home conversion. Really enjoyed your photos-thx!!!

    • Hi Jane,

It has been a long time since we have had a dog and we took the plunge and got two. It was kinda scary as we do live in our motorhome. The hardest part is not having a yard to let them out to run and be a dog. They are doing great, I take them out everyday, several times and find quiet places to take them off leash so they can run…you can see them smile when they run. My girls are so smart and very social…they love to meet every person/dog(s) in the park. We take them everywhere with us, which has it’s own set of problems…they hate it when we leave them. If we go out to dinner and are gone for one hour and come back they are so excited to see us….I think that will mellow out as they get older. If you have been researching I am sure you found the English Shepherd Club, that is where I found the breeder and read so much information, including the rescue group too. We discussed getting a rescue dog, but because of our lifestyle we thought a puppy would do better and grow with us. I can also say, I am so in love with my girls, they are amazing. Be prepared for the English shadow…they are always at my side, unless a squirrel is near by. HAHA

Hope I have answered some of your questions and let me know if you get an ES 🙂
