Bernalillo – Alburquerque

We left Texas and are working our way to Utah, then Idaho, Oregon and back to California. We spent a few nights at the KOA in Bernalillo which is just North of Albuquerque. We really didn’t have a lot of time to go visit a lot of places. One of the really fun things in this campground was the local brewery right next door. It was a great place to visit….they had great wild game sausage and the beer was good too! We were allowed to bring the dogs and stay on the outdoor patio. Here are some of the fun photos from the brewery.

They do have an interesting yard surrounding the brewery, which makes it all the more fun!

We went to the Petroglyph National Monument. It was a short 1.5 mile loop to see some of the Petroglyph’s and the cool thing was dogs were allowed on this trail. We only made it a quarter of a mile, before Abby decided it was to hot and she wasn’t going to walk any further, she laid down and wouldn’t move forward. We turned around and headed back to the car and she was fine, so I have no photos of any petroglyphs…only the sign at the visitor center. Oh, well, it happens.

We took a day trip to Santa Fe with the girls…they did very well with all the people and dogs. One of the good things when you go with dogs, it keeps you out of stores, so you don’t spend a lot of money…I did go into a church and there was a service going on, so no photos inside there either…it happens. It was still a great day walking around. One of the hot dog carts gave each of the girls a free hotdog…that was really nice.

EAT Flash – E.J. Phair Brewery

When I was working, my work group would get together on occasion after work to build friendship and teamwork. We called the get togethers “EAT Flash” (EAT = Etiquette Awareness Team). Kyle Drach was always so creative in creating invitations for the EAT flashes…they were fun. Our EAT Flashes originally started at Chevy’s and we would all meet there after work and share food, drinks and visit. Over the years we have gone to different resturants to change things up and have new adventures.

Our original work group has slowly been going different directions in life……from retiring to change jobs and work locations. We still enjoy the friendships shared over the years and recently got together. This was the first time at EJ Phair Brewery, which I thought was excellent…good food and good beer and the most important…GREAT Friends…it was wonderful to see you all.

Here are a few photos from our EAT Flash…thanks for all the mug shots…..enjoy  🙂

South Dakota – What a Great State

We just spent a quick 3 1/2 days in South Dakota…what a great state..the people there are so friendly, very respectful and polite. Our first day, we found a great local brewery…it is the Firehouse Brewery, which is in the original Rapid City firehouse…what a great place. If you are passing through that area you should stop and have a beer and something to eat. Downtown Rapid City is very nice…we enjoyed walking around.
