We took the weekend to visit Jon to celebrate his birthday while he is still doing his medic training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. I love spending time with any of my children…any excuse will do. The River Walk is a beautiful area…to stroll along the river, all the restaurants, shops, beautiful St. Joseph Church, the Alamo…all kinds of things to do. You are not allowed to take photos inside the Alamo…so only the one photo…We did have some time restrictions….so we didn’t get a chance to do everything we want…but it was a great weekend. It was their Fiesta weekend……a lot of people downtown…a lot of parades…unfortunately our timing just didn’t work and we didn’t get to see any parades…maybe next time. Enjoy the photos from the River Walk….

George W.H. Bush Presidential Library – College Station, Texas
After 15+ years of coming to College Station we never had the time to visit the Bush Library….now that we are retired we enjoyed the library. I must have forgotten or didn’t pay much attention before…President George W.H. Bush was an impressive man. The library displays the history extremely well…..I wanted to share some of the many jobs he held during his career;
- Youngest World War II Navy Combat Pilot
- Yale graduate in economics
- U.S. RCongress – two terms
- US Ambassador to the United Nations
- Director of CIA
- Vice President for two terms with President Ronald Reagan
- 41st President of the United States
We truly enjoyed the library……I wasn’t able to capture a lot of good pictures……here are a few of the better photos…enjoy.
